Week 2: Independent Study (The Stair)

''Delicate'' The staircase illustrating the word ‘delicate’ derived from BernabeifFreeman consists of rain drop like shapes suspended on a pole. This chosen specific shape was inspired by the fragile characteristic of rain droplets. As its form naturally narrows to a point, the suspension of the shapes on a bar creates an illusion of it gently and effortlessly hanging – perfectly encapsulating it’s delicate nature. ''Vicious'' The staircase representing the word ‘vicious’ reflects Autofabrica ’s motorcycle, mimicking its deadly and unpredictable nature to evoke exhilaration and fear shown through sharp and jagged edges. Similar to the bike’s dark tones, black and grey were used to mirror the vehicle’s dangerous beauty. (EXP 2) Week 6: The Bridge - Final Submission

Theory Transformation and reconstitution is inevitable within rapid urbanisation, hence suspended cities can accommodate the growth of our civilisation. Real Time Images Predominantly utilising glass throughout the school, the chosen material serves to seamlessly integrate the natural environment with the interior. Here, the tree located next to the Squarehouse is positioned as the library's core, where students will bypass it whenever travelling across campus. The relationship between man and nature is hence inevitably sustained. The bridge was intentionally suspended above ground as it's layout would not be limited by the pre-existing buildings. Though suspended above ground, the bridge aims to recreate a similar environment as on land. The architectural design puts a focus on nature reconnecting with people, promoting movement and encouraging students to work in a relaxing, outdoor environment.
